The primary focus of my law practice, Philip Eichorn Co., LPA, is serving the legal needs of immigrants throughout the country. We provide experienced representation in obtaining all types of visas, citizenship, employment visas and deportation and removal defense. I have offices in throughout Ohio and North Carolina. I am an active member of the Ohio Chapter of the American Immigration Lawyers Association (AILA). I serve as both the Secretary of our chapter and the chairperson of the liaison committee between our chapter and the Cleveland Immigration Court. We receive cutting edge information on happenings with the court and also help shape local policy. I am also the chairperson between AILA and Customs and Border Protection. Our committee strives to better the relationship between the government and the defense bar. Finally, I serve as the Vice Chairperson of the Immigration Section of the Cleveland Metropolitan Bar Association. We routinely host seminars on all areas of immigration law including I-9 compliance, H-1B strategies, VAWA defense and the immigration consequences of criminal behavior. I am also an experienced criminal defense attorney, and I offer aggressive representation to people facing DUI/DWI and other serious criminal charges.
My approach to immigration and criminal defense is grounded in my experience as a prosecutor. At the outset of my career, I spent two years as an assistant county prosecutor. I prosecuted all levels of crimes, from child support enforcement to drug trafficking, burglary, robbery and kidnapping, gaining valuable knowledge and building my skills as a trial attorney in the process. I learned how to think like the government, including how to evaluate evidence and what it takes to convict someone. Today, that is one of the strengths I offer my clients that many other immigration or criminal defense attorneys do not possess. There are few attorneys in northern Ohio who, like me, have both impaneled a criminal jury and successfully defeated the government in deportation & removal trials.
